Under the careful care and protection of Maya and 33(11), all three chicks have thrived and later this month we will learn more about them when ringing takes place.
08:48 Maya returns and chick tries to self feed - adults still not feeding the chicks !!
09:32 Maya has flown and after a few tries and some bits, they all settle down again
09:44 Maya returns and chick swiftly up to her for fish - only a couple of bits
09:50 Maya steps back - still not feeding leaving them to help themselves
09:50 Maya flies off - No fish!! Their faces say it all "we are not amused"
09:58 Maya returns and looks on as one chick has another attempt and does a little better
10:05 given up!
10:28 once more around the fish but no effort - more interested in preening
10:31 33 arrives and grabs the fish
and flies off with it
- oh their faces watching their fish go !!!
so some tough love here - chicks must learn to feed themselves
11:42 33 returns with the fish and one chick nibbles at it
11:48 33 has flown leaving the fish and one chick wing flapping and getting a tiny bit of height!
12:13 At last - some fish!!
After leaving them practically all morning to have a go at self feeding, Maya now picks up the fish and dishes it out
