Morning ALL - I am watching and speechless!! How can Maya be so naive?? But this has happened before and Maya has been clueless leaving 33 to pull the fish from the cup.
But the chicks, as well as taking a thrashing from the fish, Maya also appeared to trample on them when trying to get in to brood.
In addition to Scylla's stills & great video, here are some more of the incident:
07:13 33 delivers a fish
Maya takes it and starts to tear at it
Maya feeds chicks
fish flaps into cup over the chicks
Maya just looks on
Maya is trying to get herself into brood the chicks and the fish
Maya now stands on the chick !!
She really doesn't have a clue what to do about this situation
and down she goes on top of chicks and fish
33 arrives - he picks up a couple of bit and can't get under her for the fish
33 flies off and Maya continues to brood the chicks and fish
(sorry for dups Scylla but must record this incident):
I'm out most of today so will look back later to see what's what - this does not look good. BFN
This isn't a great pic but both chicks were upright
7:41 One on the left, head tucked under Maya, the other with its back to cam
Yes Scylla, I hope Maya is ok, she appears to be very sleepy

Continuing on from the "calamity" video, so remember that she now seems to have recovered - but I have to examine the chick-feed that just went on, don't know if both are OK.
