Laddie (LM12) and NC0 have continued their excellent partnership from last season, not only with the incubation of their three beautiful eggs but also in defending the nest, and area, from intruding Ospreys.
During the middle of this month, all being well, we will witness three gorgeous chicks hatching and being lovingly cared for by their wonderful parents. Here’s hoping that fine weather, abundant deliveries of fish from Laddie, as well as NC0’s feeding skills, will see the little ones thrive.

Glider said:Thank you so much Sandra, it all makes sense now. I didn’t realise the unringed intruder was there before the ringed one and thought it was Laddie returning to defend the nest! Good for you remembering the head markings and stating the story clearly, I just got a bit in the middle. Do you think the two blue ringed intruders are the same bird? The first sighting, I thought it looked like a 2 digit number.
================================================
You're welcome! It all got a bit hectic, didn't it! lol And I agree - oh for a time stamp!
The first one's ring was quite blurred but I thought it looked like a 2 digit number as well. Hopefully, the Lowes team will give an update!
Thank you so much for all your help, Glider
Oh no, not effortless at all especially when taking pics on slo-mo - it seems like the whole event lasts ages when in fact, at normal speed, things are only on screen for seconds, as you so rightly said.
Yes, I noticed that your pics had 'grown', you'll have to keep posting multiple pics! lol
BTW, I've just realised that the ringed intruders (or if they/it are/is one in the same bird)) had the blue ring on their right leg so either English or Welsh
NC0 took a quick fly around at 20:40. She could be seen flying behind the nest (pics too blurry) before returning under a minute later
She moved an awkward stick before settling
NC0 began to call for fish
21:15 Laddie delivered NC0 a late supper!
Again, lots of delighted squeals from her
At 21:30, NC0 left the feeding post and had a circular flight around the birch area, landing onto an outer branch of the birch
21:56
NC0 returned to the perch at 22:05, no remaining fish with her
Preening
Laddie off to roost
Hopefully a much more peaceful and less hectic one, Glider - for them and us! lol
