Laddie (LM12) and NC0 have continued their excellent partnership from last season, not only with the incubation of their three beautiful eggs but also in defending the nest, and area, from intruding Ospreys.
During the middle of this month, all being well, we will witness three gorgeous chicks hatching and being lovingly cared for by their wonderful parents. Here’s hoping that fine weather, abundant deliveries of fish from Laddie, as well as NC0’s feeding skills, will see the little ones thrive.

Win win!

19:22 UNRINGED INTRUDER OVER THE NEST!
19:21 Laddie had landed on the edge of the nest, chipping/alarm calling
Intruder hovered over the nest
Laddie flapped into the air
Then back down
The intruder flew back over the nest
And headed off to the left and went out of cam view
It must have turned as it could be seen flying over the Loch
It went higher after this pic
The intrusion didn't end there. TBC

Cont'd...
Laddie was still on alert
The intruder then flew in from the left to briefly touchdown on the perch . Laddie was off like a shot to give chase!
Both heading left and out of cam view
An Osprey could be seen flying over the birch area seconds later but unsure if it was Laddie or the intruder
Laddie came back to the nest twice more after that. Once at 19:32 and then at 19:44 both times chipping/alarm calling
19:32
He left the nest
19:44 Laddie onto the nest mantling/alarm calling
An Osprey could be seen flying over the Loch from right to left (top right of pic)
Both tracked it
Laddie and NC0 were calm
Laddie flew off and headed over to the area of the birch. I lost track of him then
Laddie returned to the nest at 20:56 for a short visit. NC0 was fish calling but I think she will have to wait until the morning now!
He flew off to roost for the night
21:27 NC0 keeping those eggs warm and dry

Big probs overnight, not just with this cam, lord knows what's been going on - I was stuck with this blurry scene for ages:
Unedited video of changeover, just to show that someone was on duty, slightly adjusting the cam, when Laddie flew in moments after daycam:

Morning all
Saw this link and new word for me, and posted on Manton bay, but thought you may enjoy on here.

Morning all,
Scylla, thanks for the early morning vid, that saved me from scrolling back to find Laddie's arrival! lol
Kate, thank you for the link to the definition
Laddie to the nest at 7:37 while NC0 was incubating. He chipped and alarm called while there
No intruder seen. Laddie left the nest
I must go too. BFN
