Many thanks to AG who wrote this preface to the Llyn Brenig thread for us (below)
Llyn Brenig is a reservoir on the border between Denbighshire and County Conwy in North Wales. It is managed by Welsh Water; the osprey project is a partnership between them and North Wales Wildlife Trust.
One pair of ospreys raised a single chick here each year from 2018-2020. Neither of this pair returned in 2021, when the nest was taken over by 2 Scottish birds, LJ2 (male) and LM6 (female), both 2018 chicks. The nest was vandalised the night after LM6 had laid her first egg; while the two could not continue to breed they did stay close to the site until normal migration time.
A new nest has been erected in 2022 with additional security and a streaming camera is in place. A new hide has also been built.

Around 09.17, LJ2 brings a half eaten fish to the nest. Could be the leftovers from this morning’s feed.
Both chicks went straight over to feed. #1 left first to rest and #2 kept eating
LM6 later followed #1 around the nest with the fish and was able to feed it some more before finishing it off.
LM6 has turned out to be a very dutiful and caring mother, always making sure both chicks get fed.
LM6 Last seen just before leaving the nest at around 11.21.
The chicks still alone at 13.51.

Thank you Jill. I just got a fright when I was scrolled back. It let me scroll forward and the minutes added up to over 2 and a half hours. I hadn’t realised the screen had frozen. Doh!
Oh the joys of Osprey watching!!
Fish delivered just before17.00. LM6 started fish calling when she saw LJ2. Chick #1 joined LM6 fish calling too!
Both chicks up quickly for the feed.

Thanks Jill, your message was late in coming through for me.
