Many thanks to AG who wrote this preface to the Llyn Brenig thread for us (below)
Llyn Brenig is a reservoir on the border between Denbighshire and County Conwy in North Wales. It is managed by Welsh Water; the osprey project is a partnership between them and North Wales Wildlife Trust.
One pair of ospreys raised a single chick here each year from 2018-2020. Neither of this pair returned in 2021, when the nest was taken over by 2 Scottish birds, LJ2 (male) and LM6 (female), both 2018 chicks. The nest was vandalised the night after LM6 had laid her first egg; while the two could not continue to breed they did stay close to the site until normal migration time.
A new nest has been erected in 2022 with additional security and a streaming camera is in place. A new hide has also been built.

New URL.
Something's changed - instead of a Pause button there's Stop live playback and I can't get rollback to work at all. Maybe someone could see if they're getting the same?

Excellent news! Thanks AG

Good afternoon! I'm just trying to sort out my live streams after that major internet outage - and I wondered if this was a late April Fool's
Welcome home, LJ2!
IMAGICAT
Osprey on perch at Llyn Brenig, cam is very flakey. It was reported on Dyfi chat that is was the resident male, Blue LJ2(18)m. As the cam is very stilted and I can't scroll back, all I can say is that it had a blue ring, which could have read LJ2!! He ruffled his feathers at one point and you could read it quite well, except it was too quick for me
A few captures for ID purposes!
He is proudly showing his BTO ring, which is of no help at all!
© Llyn Brenig Ospreys/Welsh Water/NWWT - I assume it's the same as last year??
Interestingly Dyfi reported about him two years ago, when he would have been two years old.

If you were watching the Live Streaming with us this morning and wondering who our guest was...
A Scottish two-year old (2018) male from South Argyle, ringed Blue LJ2.
Blue LJ2 was spotted at the Kartong Bird Observatory in The Gambia in October 2018, December 2019 and again in January this year!
He is also the bird we spotted on this nest last week (2nd June) so, interestingly, he has not yet presumably returned to his native Scotland.
He was caught at Kartong when they were ringing waders and they had nets over a small pool. LJ2 dropped in "for a drink", or perhaps it was to cool his feet! So it was by chance he was seen there. It seems he has been around rather a lot, and is now back to last year's 'bonding' nest. Let's hope that Blue LM6(18)f makes it back again and perhaps have their first successful year. They bonded well last year despite the upheavals.
