5F Seren hatched at nest K, Rutland, from parents Red 08 (m) and Yellow 30 (f). Chris Wood, who volunteers at the Rutland osprey project, has been following her for at least 7 years to Tanji Marsh in the Gambia. She has been at this nest with Dylan since 2020, after suffering abandonment by bigamist Aran at Pont Croesor.
Seren returned on 26 March 2022.
Dylan is unringed, he's been breeding at this nest since 2016, when he ousted dear Dai Dot.

Cirrus I think one of the great advantages Dylan has is the he knows the area very well - he's been the resident male since 2016, so currently in his 7th season. We see the variety of fish he brings in, and I have the impression that he knows where to go in different conditions to give him the best chance of a successful catch. We have seen a couple of mullet recently, which he must have gone to the coast (Dyfi is about 12 miles) to catch. We did have a tricky moment this morning when he tried to take a fish away after the bobs had fed. The fish got caught up on a stick, and he nearly ejected one of the bobs over the side of the nest. All now calm.

I'd forgotten all about Cam2 and have been sat sittin' here forever refreshing Cam1 out of buffers and bemoaning the whitewashed lens. Talk about a compartmentalised brain

Dylan is on the high perch proudly watching his checks being fed.
