2021 return dates: LM12 (Laddie) - 21st March; NC0(16) - 25th March
Laddie and NC0 were an exceptional team during 2021, successfully raising two very feisty and well fed juveniles, LR1 and LR2. LR2 was sighted in Southern Spain on 3.9.21 and again on 25.10.21
2022 marks Laddie's 11th breeding year, NC0's 3rd, and very much hope that our wonderful pair have a safe, spring migration back to this stunning nest location at Loch of the Lowes.

I missed that part, thanks PATILY.

Thank you, Patily.

12:01 Unsure if this was a successful mating or not
NC0 flew from the nest a short time after
I googled "osprey egg reabsorption" and the first result I looked at was SWT's blog of 31 March 2013, when there were apparently 2 females around and they posed the question "what would happen if the ejected female was pregnant?" - answer #2 was "She will reabsorb the eggs, she’s still early enough on to be able to do this" - but NC0 isn't, IMHO.
Then on Looduskalender I found "The same question was recently asked in the livestream chat of the Dyfi osprey cam, after resident female Glesni chased off Blue24 who had been hanging out there and mated often with Monty the resident male, and the 2 experts there, Emyr and Paul Wildlifewriter, both answered that re-absorbtion of the eggs would be the most likely outcome."... And Kukelke was in that conversation too! Small Osprey world
I was only doing that google while wondering about the "overdue" egg - in view of NC0's behaviour last night and this morning. However, I don't think an egg could be reabsorbed if the shell is fully-formed.
Speculation is futile, of course.
Thanks for all that info, Scylla, very interesting to read
ENS at present.
I just hope NC0 hasn't opted for the 'other' nest... (Sorry, thinking out loud here)
13:27 A very brief visit from Laddie
He's just returned again
NC0 to the nest, she flapped down from above the cam.
She looked at Laddie's talons, maybe expecting a fish?
Mating which looked successful
