2021 return dates: LM12 (Laddie) - 21st March; NC0(16) - 25th March
Laddie and NC0 were an exceptional team during 2021, successfully raising two very feisty and well fed juveniles, LR1 and LR2. LR2 was sighted in Southern Spain on 3.9.21 and again on 25.10.21
2022 marks Laddie's 11th breeding year, NC0's 3rd, and very much hope that our wonderful pair have a safe, spring migration back to this stunning nest location at Loch of the Lowes.

I put the screen-capture clips on beginning and end to show the date/time, but otherwise it's from the download - my screen-capture more low-res

So beautiful, I've been compelled to do some portraits, trying not to duplicate ones already done. The zooms, however, which were so lovely to see, didn't have enough space around him for freedom to frame.
He got tired

19 March
Laddie has been incredibly busy this morning - for the past 2 hours at least! He even had to see off a corvid that approached from our end (like I remember they used to years ago), and he seemed to fetch a stick to put in its way. He's still on the nest now.
EDIT - by the time I posted this, 2 hours became a serious underestimation, here's his first fly-in:
I would love to have done a vid of his landings and even started chopping in preparation but then got exhausted at the very thought of joining all them clips with the little extras that entails
A sample landing from early on:
The Raven incident - I let it run for 2 birds flying off one after the other and not necessarily same species (?) and for Laddie moving a stick to the relevant side:
The most recent stick:
I think he's on NC0's perch now.

Irresistible, wasn't he?
Fabulous captures of Laddie, thank you. I think I underestimate the males, as most focus is on the female and the chicks, and I always thought Odin couldn't be beaten. How wrong I was! They are all beautiful!
Laddie waits...

SheilaFE said:12.13/14 Laddie was preening, and looking up, then flew swooping down over the bare trees, and intruder chipped. He returned a minute or two later with a large stick, and a chirrup!!
Laddie flew off in a "north-westerly" direction out of sight, they came back in and around the corner past the birch - chipping was heard while he couldn't be seen but I didn't find the intruder. Laddie flew back with a good, long stick, as if he'd been on a routine shopping trip.
Today's toils:
The nest started out quite tidy, thanks to Laddie's efforts so far:
Samples of Laddie's work - it was difficult getting good view of his clumps against the tree background:
A doormat:
Lots of new bedding - with plenty of twigs for NC0 to sort out
17:25, off he flew for a well-earned sleep - I didn't find him leaving the birch but that's because I couldn't see.
