Start of a new year so start of a new thread.
I have changed the title slightly.
It could be a momentous year when, hopefully, our resident Ospreys return.

Seeing RICHARD's post there has reminded me that I've got clips here of the Raven bringing a single donut yesterday, I was saving them to see if anyone would collect it after it was discarded there... and I've forgotten all about it.
From 01:00 Poole Harbour 1 (and Manton Bay) kept dropping out, both behaving the same.

No sign of it, PATILY - here they were, about to fly off for the night:

The moment 022 sees his first egg...
How many years should my title say?
The whole egg-laying episode - the only interesting bit that ALISON hasn't already shown you is the tail-raise immediately after laying:
Fabulous news! Read about it on another site some hours ago and scrolled back to watch. After doing half a dozen or more double takes, 022 climbed right down into the nest cup and took ages fussing about, never actually sitting on the egg, but moving bedding material and shuffling round and round over the egg. Have any of you seen that behaviour in a new Dad Osprey before? I may be remembering wrongly, but I have not seen a Dad Osprey paying soooo much attention to his first egg as 022. Should be an interesting season. Fingers crossed for all of our favourite Ospreys to have a thoroughly normal, drama-free season! I expect there were corks popping around the country (and world!) today.
Scylla, could be wrong, but I think the phrase you want is 'in nearly 200 years!'
Kind regards, Ann
