Looking at pictures on-line, I think you could well be right, Scylla!
But... from the RRSPB In all plumages Lesser Spotted Woodpecker is told from Great Spotted Woodpecker by the lack of a large white shoulder patch. Black wings are barred white, and underparts are lightly streaked and lacking any red under the tail.
There was some red under the tail?
I have never seen a real one, only stuffed, and I was surprised how small it was.

Just before the following there was a definite Stonechat on the perch for a couple of minutes, but too grainy to include. I'm about to pack up so am not going to study these but they're nice to see,anyway. I tried to bring forward vocals but the wind prevailed.
