CAPTIVA OSPREYS - Andy & Lena

I'd been posting in "Forum Friends", here's a snap brought over, for the sake of starting this thread with something!

  • Tweed Valley AFTERNOON 04 September

Glen was on-cam a lot!  Calling for fish a lot!  Still there at closing time, no fish and no Dad having been seen, so I had to do it Frowning2

This is his whole afternoon, with the usual caveats you know of about this cam.  The info at the start is for casual YouTube viewers.

  • 04 September Alyth afternoon

This juvie fared better than Glen, getting a Flounder for tea (you can't tell what it is on the way in cos it's sideways).  No more activity seen before dark.

  • Alyth - 5 Sep 2022

06.16 Juvenile arrives at the nest and leaves after a few minutes. Back briefly at 07.34 and once again leaves.

08.25 Dad arrives with a flounder, head eaten

    Alyth 5 Sep 2022

Juvenile quickly appears, may have been on top of the cam post.

Dad leaves and Juvie starts to eat.

    Alyth 5 Sep 2022

    08.52 Juvenile leaves with fish.

Coincidence that I snapped it - I was a little concerned about left wing feathers having a big gap in them but I think they're fine, actually.  Oh, and I added 1 second on to round it up, hence a minute later than your stated departure time, Janni Smile

    Tweed Valley

    Glen's had a fish:

  • Alyth

Just quickly checked the livestream and found that Dad had arrived on the nest with a fish at 18.46. He waited until just after 19.00 but no sign of the juvenile. He then flew off taking the fish with him.

  • Tweed Valley

Dad flew in with a fish but Glen was on high pole perch eating so he ate it himself:

Glen flew in to defend vs unseen intruder, he then flew up to the high pole perch and was still there at the close of the day:

If by any chance the lad/lass has left on their long journey, their tummy is well stocked:

And it looked as tho the evening offering wasn't anything to write home about (see times, because I had to do them in the wrong order due to collage not having the 2 small on top, large below, layout).

@ Scylla - Juvenile not left yet!

Arrives at 06.16 (exactly the same time as yesterday!)

    Alyth 6 Sep 2022

Calling for Dad to no avail. Jumps on and off the nest in the next hour or so and by 8.30 still no sign of Dad.

08.19 Juvenile leaves the nest, still hungry. Still not returned by time of writing this post.

Back to perch @ 14:00 for 3 minutes, flew off to our right.

I still have today's footage but am packing up shortly so not doing snaps now, maybe "someone else" would like to, no names mentioned Stuck out tongue winking eye

  • I like your style scylla!
As it happens I've scanned through Alyth footage since this morning - Juvie makes a few landings on the nest and scans the skies for Dad. Up until now I don't believe Dad has been seen. I wonder if he has taken off?

Juvie is currently on the nest perch in the driving rain. Oh he/she does look miserable and I guess still hungry.
