As the 2021 Osprey season at Loch of the Lowes enters its final stage, it is reassuring to know how very well LR1 and LR2 are faring in the build-up to their first migration. Laddie (LM12) and NC0 (who, it is thought, will soon start her long journey south) are continuing to provide for, and protect, these wonderful (and loud!), young juveniles. Last month, it was fantastic to see the confidence in both LR1 and LR2 when they took to the sky for the first time, as well as watching them practise their spectacular diving skills into the Loch - sights to behold! With only a short number of precious weeks that we have remaining viewing Laddie, NC0 and their family on the webcam, let us hope everything continues to go well.

Morning Korky, Good to see LR2 at last. So it must have been his dulcet tones that have been echoing around the Loch! lol
8:59 Up to the cam post
14:36 LR2 on the nest, he had been mantling/shouting 15-20 minutes earlier. There was distant chipping
Pic at 14:26
He has been on and off since this morning resting and calling for fish. No fish deliveries at all and no visits by LR1, NC0 or Laddie yet as far as I can tell.
14:42 Something still around?
14:44
14:45 A huge, headless fish from a fully cropped NC0!
Ouch! LR2 grabbed hold of NC0's leg!
It took a lot of effort for him to drag the fish to the right side of the nest
NC0 took flight
NC0 landed on the birch after flying from right to left across the Loch behind the nest
The cam zoomed to the birch area
NC0 on top of the second from left thick branch
15:12 Present scene. Thoroughly enjoying his meal!
15:30 LR1 arrived! 'And where have you been young lady?!' lol
From what I could tell, she had flown from the opposite side of the Loch in relation to the birch, landed on the far left branch prior to making her flight to the nest
LR2 guarding his fish
He resumed feeding. LR1 calling for fish
