As the 2021 Osprey season at Loch of the Lowes enters its final stage, it is reassuring to know how very well LR1 and LR2 are faring in the build-up to their first migration. Laddie (LM12) and NC0 (who, it is thought, will soon start her long journey south) are continuing to provide for, and protect, these wonderful (and loud!), young juveniles. Last month, it was fantastic to see the confidence in both LR1 and LR2 when they took to the sky for the first time, as well as watching them practise their spectacular diving skills into the Loch - sights to behold! With only a short number of precious weeks that we have remaining viewing Laddie, NC0 and their family on the webcam, let us hope everything continues to go well.
The Lowes threads throughout the season have been an absolute joy to read. Thanks to everyone for their contributions but especially SANDRA for her dedication and fantastic updates/captures of this wonderful family.
It is always sad when the season comes to a close seeing them leave, but leave they must and I wish Laddie, NCO, LR1 and LR2 a safe journey and safe return.

I was just catching up Joanna Dailey's reports and noted PT4's constant presence at Nest6 - she was one of dear Lassie's last chicks 2019 and I have her "dive-bombing" a corvid off the LotL nest:
Thank you so much for the extremely kind comments - it’s been a pleasure to report on the comings and goings of this fantastic family for the past 5 months, where did that time go?!
The pre-season endeavours from SWT and the Lowes team around the nest area was a complete success. Laddie, and dear NC0 in particular, felt comfortable enough to raise their two strong, independent juveniles. That, as well as the set-up of a new camera (gosh, the difference in clarity in comparison to Scylla’s 2019 vid recorded from the LS at that time!), made viewing these precious Ospreys even more enjoyable.
I’m saddened not to have seen Laddie make an appearance on the nest before he left for his migration, just to confirm that he was in ‘tip-top’ condition – I suppose I’m experiencing those post-season ‘blues’ at the moment...
To everyone who has posted their comments, pictures and videos on this thread, I’d like to say a massive thank you for your involvement too.
See you next March? I, for one, can’t wait until Laddie and NC0 return to this stunning location!
