3.9.21 - LR2 sighted in Southern Spain
25.10.21 - LR2 still in Southern Spain
As the 2021 Osprey season at Loch of the Lowes enters its final stage, it is reassuring to know how very well LR1 and LR2 are faring in the build-up to their first migration. Laddie (LM12) and NC0 (who, it is thought, will soon start her long journey south) are continuing to provide for, and protect, these wonderful (and loud!), young juveniles. Last month, it was fantastic to see the confidence in both LR1 and LR2 when they took to the sky for the first time, as well as watching them practise their spectacular diving skills into the Loch - sights to behold! With only a short number of precious weeks that we have remaining viewing Laddie, NC0 and their family on the webcam, let us hope everything continues to go well.

I dropped in to Lowes yesterday but didn't see any of them.
14:30 LR2 onto the perch. He'd flown from the far left branch of the birch making a bit of a noisy entrance
15:02 Quietly(!) preening

15:40 A fish from Laddie. LR2 was not so quiet when receiving it! lol
He stood looking around
Then took it off to his usual branch on the birch
Centre of pic
15:55 Laddie popped back to the nest for a 5 minute visit. He looked in wonderful condition!
Stick placement
He did a little stumble while moving this one, only due to the nesting material under talons
He headed off to the left
From 20:05, a Raven, who had been resting on the nest, flew to the birch and landed on a branch to the left of (I assume) LR2 who must still have a tail end of his fish. The 'fun and games' are still continuing as the Raven keeps jumping up to try to take it and LR2 telling it in no uncertain terms, to clear off!
LR2 wings open on his branch, the Raven had moved over and positioned itself lower down in the fork in readiness to jump up to make a fish steal
21:05 I can hear at least one Raven but not see it/them near LR2 (unless this is the Raven and LR2 had flown!)
Morning all ENS.
LR2 flew from the birch to cam post just after 6:20
7:17 Flown
A swooping flight off to the left
Then low across the Loch. It appeared that he headed off over to the far side of the Loch
7:45 Back to the nest, shouting
Up to the perch where he still is at time of posting
