As the 2021 Osprey season at Loch of the Lowes enters its final stage, it is reassuring to know how very well LR1 and LR2 are faring in the build-up to their first migration. Laddie (LM12) and NC0 (who, it is thought, will soon start her long journey south) are continuing to provide for, and protect, these wonderful (and loud!), young juveniles. Last month, it was fantastic to see the confidence in both LR1 and LR2 when they took to the sky for the first time, as well as watching them practise their spectacular diving skills into the Loch - sights to behold! With only a short number of precious weeks that we have remaining viewing Laddie, NC0 and their family on the webcam, let us hope everything continues to go well.
12:18 A large, headless fish delivery from NC0, She flew from beyond the bend of the birch area. LR1 followed her to the nest to excitedly claim it!

NC0 made her way to the perch while LR1 tucked in
LR1 became quite vocal and appeared not to want NC0 there
She flapped her wings at NC0...
...who then flew off, landing on the left side of the birch
12:31 LR1 took her fish off nest a minute later
She landed on the middle branch of the birch, to the right of NC0 - screeching all the way!
13:55ish Laddie with a headless fish. LR2 flew from beyond the birch to come to the nest to collect it from him
Laddie departed
LR2 stayed on the nest with his fish for a very short while then took the it away, landing on a low, left branch of the birch
14:44 ENS but someone close (possibly above the nest) is chipping/alarm calling

LR2 spent a few minutes on the nest from 16:15ish
A leap across the nest
Fish calling
And away
17:15ish A flight from right to left over the Loch from possibly NC0 heading to the birch area. LR2 making his way to the nest
17:17 LR2 came screeching in
He waited and then saw NC0 incoming but was most disappointed when she landed with a stick!
Once she had landed, LR2 showed his displeasure by flapping at her - she flew off
