12.7.21 - LR2 fledged at 53 days old, c17:40 Blog: LR2 fledges
From little 'fluff balls' to almost fully grown ospreys, LR1 and LR2 are doing amazingly well all thanks to the fantastic ongoing care from NC0 and Laddie (LM12). Not only have we seen Laddie providing fish for his family but NC0 has been successful several times just recently as well - what first-class parents they are! There continues to be the occasional intrusion from ospreys passing through, however, the nest and chicks have been protected outstandingly. We look forward to the next exciting phase in the young ospreys' development.
17:23 Fish delivery from Laddie. NC0 flapped down from above the nest
Just as Laddie was leaving, his talons were still in the fish as, I think, were NC0's, and she had to make a grab for it, pulling him back down onto the nest
His talons released from the fish, he took flight

Comments on my "osprey dives" video:
I shan't be able to supply a vid for the "rustling" episode, I didn't surface and set the new URL until very late today.
IMAGICAT
Not to worry, Scylla, your nap time was far more important. 19:32 There's been some more rustling as well for the past 5+ minutes or so. I can only describe another sound alongside that as 'something' clearing its nostrils, I think it's more of a mammal under the nest tree rather than it being high up. I hope so anyway!
Edit - at time of posting, I can still hear it.
TWO 'live' fish deliveries, from a fully cropped Laddie, in approximately 7 minutes!
21:21
LR1's stretch before her supper
21:28
21:54 Sound of a helicopter?
Just look at the size comparison between LR1 and NC0!
21:58 Another fish from Laddie...what a boy!
A very hasty, very short vid before I pack up, having had a variegated, torrid night and unable to sort out the mess.
9:15 Breakfish has arrived
Catch up since my last post to the present time. (Apart from the last fish delivery, all other timings are approximate)
Just after 11:30 - A milestone for LR1 at 46 days old. Lots of wingercising which saw her lift off the nest on a couple of occasions!
A slight lift off the nest
Even higher!
A little time after that amazing feat, there was a sound of distant alarm calling...NC0 took flight, chicks flattened
13:13ish Laddie delivered a fish. NC0 flapped down to the nest prior to his arrival
14:02ish Another fish
15:28ish And another
16:40 A cracking sized fish this time - excellent work Laddie!
NC0, LR1 and LR2 have eaten very well!
