Ringing Blog >>> Meet our newly ringed osprey chicks - LR1 and LR2
Last month, we saw all three chicks hatch but unfortunately, the third one very sadly passed away after surviving for just over two full days. Laddie and NC0 continue to nurture their two remaining chicks. Long may the good weather, as well as Laddie’s effective hunting, persist so we can continue to watch these wonderful osplets thrive.

This might be the afternoon intrusions but I'm not confident so have made it Unlisted - so only we who know what we're referring to will watch it:

Thanks Scylla. At the beginning of your 'intrusion' video, chipping could be heard which was most probably Laddie. Looking at the back of the head, it had almost exact markings to Laddie's and I'm in two minds as to whether or not it was an 'intruder' that landed? With 2 chicks on the nest, I'd have thought NC0 would have given more of a 'get off' reaction. Confusion reigns here! lol,
10:22 #1 just expelled a pellet. It was slow to get started during this morning's feed so maybe this was the reason?

NC0 brought this back to the nest on her return
10:37 Fish delivery. #1 straight up for a feed, #2 not interested at the moment
10:44 #2 changed its mind
#1 did turn away from the feed but has since joined in again

12:50 An intruder is about
Covered the chicks
12:59 NC0 still appeared to be on alert but much calmer now
13:54 NCO had taken a break and on her return, brought a large stick.
She landed on chick 1, luckily the stick went clattering over the side. Chick was ok
14:54 Laddie arrived with a smlll stick. NC0 called for fish. 14:55 Laddie chipping
Scenario still continuing at 15:02
Laddie left the nest at 15:04, hopefully to catch a fish
