Ringing Blog >>> Meet our newly ringed osprey chicks - LR1 and LR2
Last month, we saw all three chicks hatch but unfortunately, the third one very sadly passed away after surviving for just over two full days. Laddie and NC0 continue to nurture their two remaining chicks. Long may the good weather, as well as Laddie’s effective hunting, persist so we can continue to watch these wonderful osplets thrive.
16:48 NC0 was sitting above the cam and alerted that a fish was en-route. She flapped down just before Laddie did a quick drop off of a small, live fish
He 'jumped' and then hovered to the left side of the nest before taking flight

A little after 19:00, the chicks were alone on the nest when they began to track 'something'.
Laddie then arrived, I think he flapped down from above the cam where he may have been sitting (looked that way going by the shadow on the low far left of pic)
NC0 flew onto the nest checking to see if there was a fish on offer. I wonder if it was her flight the chicks had tracked?
She was disappointed not to see one (and told him so!)
Laddie left the nest, flying high out of cam view
19:53 NC0 left the nest. #1 took the opportunity to do some wingercising before mum returned with a stick
22:01 Fish from Laddie
22:11 Another one!!
Laddie was low over the water by the birch before coming to the nest with a fish. Perhaps he caught it in the area by the lower trees - he came into view from there
