Ringing Blog >>> Meet our newly ringed osprey chicks - LR1 and LR2
Last month, we saw all three chicks hatch but unfortunately, the third one very sadly passed away after surviving for just over two full days. Laddie and NC0 continue to nurture their two remaining chicks. Long may the good weather, as well as Laddie’s effective hunting, persist so we can continue to watch these wonderful osplets thrive.
13:55 NC0 went on a crow chase
She returned almost immediately

Both had full crops at the end of the feed, Richard

Thank you, Patily
There was also an earlier fish delivery at around 14:50
Laddie began to chip after NC0 had taken the fish, chicks stayed low and he left the nest
17:55(ish) Laddie was sitting on the birch and NC0 was fish calling. He flew to the nest, not with fish as NC0 was expecting but another clump of dried grass. She wasn't happy!
This was the fish delivery approx. 15 minutes after the clump was brought to the nest. As Richard stated, the feed couldn't be seen
Headless fish at 20:44 Laddie flew to the nest from the birch where he had been for some time, probably enjoying his supper
I'd say both chicks' crops are everso slightly full after their meal
BTW - the stick hindering a clear view, was brought to the nest by NC0 prior to Laddie's fish delivery
Just now - the bairns are settled - lovely family pic.
