The first of my favourite poppies has come out today.

Lindybird: Lovely pix! I do like the one of Amber with her coordinated dress and ice cream :-) Looks like big eyes run in the family. Is she tall too? That is one HUGE poppy.

Yes, she's tall although the rest of her schoolfriends seem tall too, for 6 year olds. Every generation is getting bigger... ... My OH and our sons are all 6ft plus, but I'm only barely 5 ft 5 and Amber's mum is only 5ft 3!!

The poppies are huge, and stunningly bright. The red is slightly more blue tinged than shown in the photo taken in bright sunshine.

Lunch with School-Friend. Lovely long chat & made date for next in July. I stopped nasty pills 2 days ago or else I would have been feeling too sick & depressed to go out. Doubtful if I shall start them again. We missed dinner out last week when I felt rotten. Now hoping for dinner this week.

AQ - Sorry to see that you've not been getting on well with the meds: bad luck. Hope that now you've stopped you can get back to feeling normal. Great that you managed a good chat with your friend. Take care. Hugs.

LINDY: Lovely irises. We had irises that looked exactly like those in the old house where I lived as a small child.

Amber is beautiful! It's true that every generation is getting taller. My grandmother was 5'2", my mother was 5'4", and I was 5'8" when I was younger (I've shrunk an inch now!). My younger female cousin is 6'1".
