Arrival dates
Laddie 21.3.21
NC0 25.3.21
It has been great to witness Laddie (LM12) and NC0 renew their bond and also begin to make a safe and cosy nest for impending eggs. It is encouraging to watch NC0 much more comfortable in her surroundings and hope that all continues goes well for them both from here on in.

17.4.21: Blog - NC0 lays her third egg
Just after 14:00, Laddie arrived with more soft nesting material
NC0 left the nest and Laddie began his shift with incubation

Have seen a couple of dives/bathing in the Loch (around 15:50) while Laddie was on duty
This was the first one, flying via the birch corner for its splashdown/bathing
The bird flew, veered off to its left going behind the back trees and out of view
Within a few moments, a definite NC0 flew low, round the birch corner, and dived/bathed. She made a contact calls
Her flight out of the water - she came past the nest and seconds later landed in the nest tree (flapping heard when landing)
Laddie left and it wasn't long until NC0 flapped down onto the nest
16:39 Fish from laddie (only a tiddler)
Off she went
Laddie back on incubating duty (scene at 16:50)
NC0 took over incubation around 17:45.
Laddie left the egg unattended for a couple of minutes but it wasn't a worry as NC0 was in the nest tree. She made a beautiful semi-glided flight around the trees and back round to land safely on the nest - superb to watch in slo-mo!
19:57 I think NC0 expected a fish not a piece of bark/stick?
She flew off and Laddie took over to sit on the egg
NCO returned, landed on the perch - fish calling
He left the nest for a milli-second before returning to mate and fly away
NC0 incubating
Mating again at 20:31 - that was a very quick visit from Laddie!
20:56 Laddie arrived to the nest fishless
NC0 continued to fish call
She went off for a break leaving Laddie in charge
Nightcam came on at 21:02
22:54 I can;t find any exchange of duty when going through scroll back so can only assume it is still Laddie incubating? If so, where is NC0?
Hoping things become clear in the morning. Signing off now, goodnight.

Very approx 02:20 (I hope nobody checks it)... NC0 turned up and took over, slowly, and Laddie flew:
EDIT - Meant to say - Laddie did get some shut-eye, but I wasted a very long time checking the sound whenever he looked up, meaning I had to extract it and increase the volume... that was because my clip ended about 01:00, why didn't I stop the next bit first and scroll thru? Cos I'm stoopid.
