Arrival dates
Laddie 21.3.21
NC0 25.3.21
It has been great to witness Laddie (LM12) and NC0 renew their bond and also begin to make a safe and cosy nest for impending eggs. It is encouraging to watch NC0 much more comfortable in her surroundings and hope that all continues goes well for them both from here on in.

Laddie's stick mishap from yesterday
Overnight
A brief windy shower of something:
Later the cam swerved to here... and then back to the nest with a "preset" notice on it:
05:00-ish NC0 landed and Laddie flew in very shortly after:
They both flew off, later Laddie landed and waited a long time for his next EMN:
The next time he slipped off.
NC0 defended! But we're not privy to the intruder. She went back to nestcupping right after:
Only up to 07:00.
IMAGICAT
Good morning, Patily, Scylla and all, what a beautiful, calm morning at Lowes it is too!
Thanks so much, Scylla, for the EM catch-up.
Patily, I think there have been plenty of successful matings to warrant an egg at this time.
There was another one at 7:26(ish)
.
NC0 was away from the nest for almost an hour after that. She did spent a short time back on the nest but when she flew off again she could be seen skimming the water (around 8:25)

8:45 Both on the nest
8:46 Laddie slipped off with this attempt, he couldn't gain a correct position
He flew off.
9:01 Laddie returned just as NC0 had settled in the nest cup - intruder alert (chipping from Laddie)
All calm after a minute or so
9:08 He left after spending several seconds staring at a particular area behind the cam
9:24 Fish delivery, gratefully (and more noisily than usual) received by NC0!
She appeared to lift Laddie's leg before grabbing the fish!
She flew off with it and a clump of nesting material
NC0 has returned, minus her fish?
Can't see it
Feaking her beak
9:44
Crows have been around. NC0 has already been off the nest to sort them out
Leaving
Returning
Crow (top centre)
10:14 Laddie in with nesting material
Very noisy around the Loch what with crows cawing, geese honking and ducks quacking!
