March thread.
This post updated 01 June
MrsG returned on the 25th of March and was joined by Aran on the 29th.
(The beginning of the reunion video is a must-see for all fans of MrsG - I'm posting it today 01 June, to remind us of a happy time before the tragedies of May 2021.)
The month of May brought unrelenting wind, rain and corvids, as well as persistent intruder KS8 (among others) - and Aran somehow injured his right wing, rendering him unable to fish. Within a few days all the chicks had sickened and died. It could hardly have been more stressful for MrsG and Aran, but they are recovering together while the caring Glaslyn team is supplying fish each night.
(The chicks' bodies have been removed from the nest by Aran and MrsG, so we shall never know the cause of their deaths.)
In the right margin of this page are links to Glaslyn's posts documenting the misfortunes on the nest.

IMAGICAT
I spotted her out of the corner of my eye while I was looking for Hesgyn in yesterday's footage - "whatever water bird is that?!" I wondered, as she was the other side of the bridge and looked totally weird. So I went up to YT Chat and realised this was the lady I donated to this morning. How super to have got her on-cam, and how nice to see so many people there supporting her
This is the "whatever water bird?" view:
MC. Gail stopped off for a break and food at the VC and restarted her swim just after 1pm. Currently she has raised over £5,000 for the new hide appeal. Expects to reach The Cob, the end of her swim, at around 5pm.
Heather reports that Gail has seen four Ospreys so far.
Birdies LG DU update.
Lovely to see her coming towards the bridge - I missed it live.
Here are more details about the new hide.
A good thing the train wasn't a bit later!
As far as I can tell the tide is going out - I assume the river is tidal - which may explain why the buoyancy aid is floating around her, or it may be a waterproof containing for her dry clothes.
Good to see folk on the bridge to greet her
I lost her behind trees, but the cam showed her getting back into the water, having had a break and lunch with supporters
and off once more, with a pair of swan as an escort!

And back to Mrs G and Aran. Nothing to report! The cam has stayed on the nest as far as I can tell.
16:47 Heather Corfield Aran is on the A498 tree with a fish. Pretty sure it is Aran anyway.
17:11 Heather Corfield Gail has passed the bypass and ETA at cob is 5.15 to 5.30
17:34 Heather Corfield Gwenan and Becci are on the railway camera now
17:40 Heather Corfield Some of Team BGGW just passed on the station camera
I think they are watching this cam on the station but it doesn't help me as I wouldn't recognise anyone LOL
17:43 Heather Corfield Gail is almost there
Retrospective
27 August "Aran had to chase KA3 Hesgyn from perch":
This morning starting from Aran's arrival about 6am ending with a goose flypast around 7am
Lots of catching up to do for yesterday but here's this morning's activity so far.
29 August
Aran arrived just before 06:00 but just stood looking around for several minutes and flew off, no pottering:
Nearly 3 hours after posting that vid, due to waylayment and digression started by a flood of (possibly only 3) speculated Mistle Thrushes, here's a blurry holding vid - was it a juvenile Great Spotted Woodpecker? It looks so small and has so much white.
