March thread.

MrsG returned on the 25th of March and was joined by Aran on the 29th.
(The beginning of the reunion video is a must-see for all fans of MrsG - I'm posting it today 01 June, to remind us of a happy time before the tragedies of May 2021.)
The month of May brought unrelenting wind, rain and corvids, as well as persistent intruder KS8 (among others) - and Aran somehow injured his right wing, rendering him unable to fish. Within a few days all the chicks had sickened and died. It could hardly have been more stressful for MrsG and Aran, but they are recovering together while the caring Glaslyn team is supplying fish each night.
(The chicks' bodies have been removed from the nest by Aran and MrsG, so we shall never know the cause of their deaths.)

Aran flew in early again this morning:
In between some flaps, he waited and waited at the back of the nest:
Until:
Plenty of tiny birds at the nest early morning but none of them close enough to snap. One was on the perch for 10 minutes until Aran brought in a thin stick, while others flitted in 'n out - I don't usually hear much because of muting and no sound while scrolling thru, but caught these squeaks and wondered if Great or Coal Tit ???

He stood around and flew @ 08:14, returning after 50+ minutes with another stick not so thin:
Aran is looking so good, what a happy sight for our sore eyes after the early part of the season:

Lovely captures and video scylla thank you. He looks very well restored. Let's hope for better things for this pair next year
Well Scylla, some good news and bad news for you.
I can't tell what the bird on the end of the perch is, maybe a Tit or female Chaffinch, but the bird flitting about on the nest is a Nuthatch.
The pipping noise is a Robin, so the perch bird could be a young Robin.
The big bird that flies in and scares them both off is an Osprey

I did get the Nuthatch with its pencilled-in eyebrow, and I thought one was either Great or Coal Tit but couldn't see the belly - and as for any Chaffinch besides a bold male... I'm lost
The big bird was a doddle, even for me
I have to take a break without even starting on this cam, but I did see Aran several times and MrsG has been back after her away-day yesterday - they were defending together.
