GLASLYN OSPREYS - APRIL 2021 to end of FEB 2022

MrsG returned on the 25th of March and was joined by Aran on the 29th.

(The beginning of the reunion video is a must-see for all fans of MrsG - I'm posting it today 01 June, to remind us of a happy time before the tragedies of May 2021.)

The month of May brought unrelenting wind, rain and corvids, as well as persistent intruder KS8 (among others) - and Aran somehow injured his right wing, rendering him unable to fish. Within a few days all the chicks had sickened and died. It could hardly have been more stressful for MrsG and Aran, but they are recovering together while the caring Glaslyn team is supplying fish each night.

(The chicks' bodies have been removed from the nest by Aran and MrsG, so we shall never know the cause of their deaths.)

The dedication from the Glaslyn team has been absolutely second to none. Devastated for them as well as Mrs G and Aran. My thoughts are with them all at this incredibly difficult and very sad time.

So sad to read about the last two chicks having died. I wonder if there was something wrong with them all. Poor Mrs G and Arran must be quite lost now. I do hope that Arran continues to make a good recovery. Nature at its worst. Thinking of all the team, as they have done such a great job this week, providing the fish and keeping us all up to date, not forgetting everything else that they do.

Thanks, everyone--very sad. I could not watch all day but was glued to the live stream and YouTube whenever I could be, as well as trying to keep up with a few other nests and sadly had to neglect these threads. I feel for everyone at Glaslyn just now; they must be devastated. Fingers crossed that Aran continues to improve and that Mrs G remains healthy, too. Hope regulations allow for us to go there in June/July.

Just been catching up with the news and so sorry to hear that now chick #3 has gone. What a season so far, I'm sure the weather has contributed greatly to their demise. Thank you to the Glaslyn team for keeping us informed during this sad time.

I hope Mrs G land Aran look after themselves and do not feel too lost and that as the weeks go on Aran continues to improve

Such very, very sad news. I feel so much for all for Glaslyn but so admire and thank them for all their efforts. Hopefully Aran continues to recover and Mrs G looks after herself. It is just devastating!
