GLASLYN OSPREYS - APRIL 2021 to end of FEB 2022

MrsG returned on the 25th of March and was joined by Aran on the 29th.

 (The beginning of the reunion video is a must-see for all fans of MrsG - I'm posting it today 01 June, to remind us of a happy time before the tragedies of May 2021.)

The month of May brought unrelenting wind, rain and corvids, as well as persistent intruder KS8 (among others) - and Aran somehow injured his right wing, rendering him unable to fish.  Within a few days all the chicks had sickened and died.  It could hardly have been more stressful for MrsG and Aran, but they are recovering together while the caring Glaslyn team is supplying fish each night.


(The chicks' bodies have been removed from the nest by Aran and MrsG, so we shall never know the cause of their deaths.)

    Such a relief to read Glaslyn has taken this action giving this family a chance for after all, imo it is no less than what Mrs G deserves in what could be her final year,

    Well done on the decision to intervene and provide fish for mum, dad and chicks. So good to see the wee ones being fed, poor Mrs G must have been hungry as well and good to see that Arran has been able to get some food and is now coming back to the nest. Fingers crossed that whatever happened to his wing and has given him the inability to fish, will be able to heal and he will get back to full health again soon.

    I remember fine Patily the man with the Tesco bag climbing and delivering the fish to our beloved EJ and her chicks on the nest. Not actually live, as like you I was not on here then but have seen the video clip. If you wanted to see that and read about Odin, type short wording (Tesco fish delivery to EJ, Odin caught fishing line, or similar) into the search bar at the top and you should find it.

    Update from Glaslyn:
    We would like to say thank you to each and every one of you for your support since we shared yesterday evening's update from the Glaslyn Nest. It means a lot to us.
    Aran has been looking stronger again today, taking longer flights around the nest area and making more of an attempt at chasing away persistent intruding ospreys. Mrs G has been bothered much less by the crows and both chicks have fed well.
    We know how much you miss watching the Glaslyn family online and we are happy to announce that Live Streaming will return tomorrow morning. We will be live streaming from the nest between 8am-8pm for the time being. We can't wait to 'chat' with you all again!'
