NEWS FROM OTHER NESTS - 2021

Ciril was the loveliest of ringers , so often put rings on upside down or even wrong leg !!! when we see a Scottish ringed osprey with ring on upside down we often say bet that is one of Ciril's . He will be remembered for many many years fondly .

Thank you Alan and Valerie. How sad to lose such an obvious 'character' and in such tragic circumstances. I suppose one can only say he died doing a job he clearly loved.

One of the Tweed Valley chicks fledged on 19th July

Tweed Valley summary
"In total Tweed Valley osprey project area has fourteen occupied sites, three of these sites are new this year. From the total number of chicks ringed at the sites, it is hoped there will be a minimum of 19 osprey youngsters fledging in 2021"

That is very good news, and nice to see 3 new nests

Just been reported that the 3rd chick at Esthwaite Water fledged on tuesday

All 3 chicks have fledged at Threave and the eldest is reported as having cauight a fish
