EJ's Memorial Balgavies Loch Ospreys 2023
SheilaFE said:"#02 - a female - Reda#04- the male. Female in that nest not arrived yet. She is unringed." I'm not sure I understand that is meant!
02dot is a female who breeds on a "nearby" nest, she tends to visit this nest before her partner comes home.
The resident BalbuCam female, Sylva, is unringed and we await her arrival.
In the meantime, 04dot Reda is taking advantage of 02dot - and vice versa, I'm sure.
And if you are wondering about the "dot", that's apparently how the French number their birds, presumably 04. and Val(i)erie (dang!) told us 04 dot but I arbitrarily decided to make it one "word" for the sake of unambiguity... like I do with Blue28 (RIP) etc.

Both Ospreys in the nest apparently mated early on a dusty morning...
Reda 04. arrived with living fish and took off later to a nearby dead tree
Kind regards, Ann

Good thinking, IMHO, GB !!!

I noticed that (numbers read down the leg) yesterday, and wondered why it was counter to the way the UK does it. I see Switzerland uses the same 'read up' system as we do, and also blue.
The French system, here
