The Magnificent Couple - Aran & MrsG - may they return in good health to add to their Glaslyn achievements and our delight:

  • Earlier Aran and Mrs G were looking very at ease with each other, on the perch

    10.39

But now there appears to be a power problem

11:07  Bywyd Gwyllt Glaslyn WildlifeSorry, there seems to be an issue with the power briefly cutting out. We will source and sort it asap
11:08  Bywyd Gwyllt Glaslyn WildlifeLuckily it does not seem to break the live stream connection completely, but there might be a few seconds of freezing now and again as we try and fix it.
and the picture was in a definite fade-out, with sound and no movement.

11.36 and all seems to be well again, for now.
11.38  Mrs G is back on the nest, alone.  Possibly Aran is fishing.
    Edit from chat
11:38   Bywyd Gwyllt Glaslyn WildlifeApologies if your live stream went down for a while, I have switched cameras for a bit and it seems to be working okay now.

  • INTRUDER!!!  Blue Z2(17)M  Aeron, hatched Dyfi

Mrs G started to call gently, Aran flew to the perch with a live whole fish and started to eat it.

In flew an intruder.  There was no aggression from either Mrs G or Aran.  Intruder moved and exposed a blue ring, which then revealed Blue Z2(17)m, Aeron from Dyfi!

    11.50 Aran landing with fish

Intruder lands on nest, as bold as brass

No real reaction from Aran who continues to eat the fish head, nor Mrs G

    12.07 he is still there!!

Mrs G continues to call gently for the fish.

  • 12.10  Mrs G is in the nest calling gently - I assume for the fish, but keeping an eye on Aeron.  Aeron has moved around the rim, and Aran is eating the fish on the perch!

  • 12.27  Aeron Blue Z2(17)m is still there.  Mrs G waits for her turn on the fish

    Still all very peaceful

  • 12.42  'Don't you dare come any closer'!

Mrs G still wants her fish!

    12.46  Hmm!

12.51 Aeron seems to have noticed all of a sudden and took off with the fish, startling Aeron who flew.  Aerial footage as Aran chases Aeron.

Not sure how, but Mrs G has the fish and is now intruder calling!  Must look back

  • Aran saw Aeron off the nest, then returned to drop off the fish. Aeron appeared below the nest again and both mantled with Mrs G intruder calling, before Aran went after Aeron again.
Mrs G took off with the fish.

  • 13.04 Aeron has returned to an empty nest!

  • 13.11 Mrs G has returned, chipping gently, initially

  • I’ve just watched all that on rewind, Sheila. What an amazing sequence! I think Aran would have acted faster if he hadn’t just arrived with a live flapping fish.
  • How good to know Aeron has returned Wonder if he will settle down this year
No ospreys in sight but there was some calling a while ago andit sounds as ifsomeone is up on the cam perch
