I know it's of no consequence to nest events, but it's all that's reliably provided activity - until a few nights ago when (as per a video covering the event) the resident spider suddenly cut down the newly-spun web and promptly (apparently) downed tools.
Well, tonight the spider made a brief appearance from the right-hand side, so I think it must have spun its new web off by the side of the lens. But I wish it had finished demolishing the old one.

It heeded me
That was last night - no nest activity seen all day and tonight so far, apart from some ngiht-flying insects and aerial phenomena for a while.
We had a visitor this morning and it stayed quite a while - a very perky chap too! Such a shame there was no sun to make him/her glossy:
I can't boast about ID-ing the REDWINGS, CIRRUS, because it took so long for the penny to drop - but drop it did, with no outside assistance because when I googled a description the results included Jay, Red-winged Blackbird and many others with no resemblance to the description.
The Magpie is a bit of a charmer but we won't say that if s/he pinches eggs.
The male redwing flashes showed up beautifully (near the end of the video) . Thank you Sylla.

Yes, that's why I thought "female then male" - but when I googled that, it only said that males & females are very similar, no mention of the red being more prominent in the male, so I left it open for people like you and RICHARD, hopefully.

Well, as long as they know, that's all that matters Thanks, Richard!
