Kielder Ospreys 2021

We watched it as well. Very enjoyable and we will try to see the rest in the series. About time to consider a holiday up there again for us, too; it has been decades since we were in Northumberland and there were no Ospreys there then. We stayed in a holiday cottage in farmland not far from the forest, and we had visitors with us from overseas. While we unpacked the car, our mad birder friend went for a short walk with her binoculars. She came back after about half an hour having seen a Hawfinch in a small patch of woodland just down the road--first tick on her first ever UK list. Lucky girl--I have never yet seen one, although I must admit we never made much of an effort to do so--we tend to see such similarly rare birds solely by chance!
