Ah. Lovely to meet you, Lynette & Dibnlib. [Pics on previous week's thread.]
Gorgeous pics of snow Wendy, Alicat & Osprey. But I bet you are not thinking "lovely"!!! My nearest to snow was some grey slushy roadside stuff in Tasmania 40 years ago.
Tiger I think I have Gary’s puzzle solved. Alas I can only award you 2½ out of 5 on the brain teasers. I was being diabolical this week. Until Friday then . . .
Linda Successful shrunk pics. The walker’s seat - what a wonderful way to remember someone.
Oh no, Auntie, minus temps already.
Alan Love your intermittent "busy pics", the shivery one, the dreaded leaf blower & the migration.
A bit shivery here today, expecting 20 C max again. I’m not complaining. A quiet day for me. Yesterday I helped Dau2 washing, wiping, cleaning, etc as per her list. G-kids did minimum possible. Brats. After lunch Dau & Sil went shopping while I guarded the fort. I think they were out longer than necessary but I don’t begrudge them that. The brats are really rude & unhelpful. GS greeted me with "what are you doing here?" Hello and nice to see you too! They spoke to their mother on Skype - what a lot of complaining & false info. Grumbling that Sil put passwords on computers. Well Miss14 did abuse the privilege. She is proud of doing badly in final exams. Alas these days kids don’t repeat a year at school. It seems it is more important to stay with peer group than to acquire knowledge. I just don’t understand them. Sorry. Rant over. I’ll go and read Linda’s answers again to put me in a better mood with some giggles.

Good afternoon Alan I almost wish this is not true, with rivers and lakes freezing over fish will be hard to come by.
Margobird
The osprey was spotted by Graham Fordham:"Driving slowly through the Snow (09.00 ish) when Osprey swooped out of the conifers circled and went in the direction of Kirkby on Bain pits."
Alan, There is a later one.

Good afternoon to one and all: Lindybird "Congratulations"...are you still walking about 2' in the air.
Only just logged on as today was my first expedition since our snow came down last week. OH took the day off and we departed for Elgin at 10,30am and the temp. as we got onto main A95 was minus 15.5. Roads not too brilliant but with OH coming it meant he could drop me outside various shops and he could then park. Well impressed with the amount of fresh everything in Tescos. So my thanks go out to all those lorry drivers who braved the A9 to get here.It was a warm minus 5 in Elgin at lunch time and by he time we got home it around 2.30 it was minus 14.5 so that looks like another chilly night in prospect. Keep a loy of everyday essentials in MY shed but dry ginger tonics etc are frozen so have been bringing it all back indoors. I did have exploding red wine last winter and that was such a waste it is not going to happen again.
I did have a backup plan as I did an Asda order on line for tomorrow but as everything was in good supply I did big shop and as soon as I got home I just moved the order to nearer Christmas. Just listened to answerphone message, must have missed call whilst getting shopping in, saying they were not coming due to weather. I love it when a plan comes together.
We have had some sun and some amazing skies so my mood has lifted, Left garage door open when we were out only to come back to a "fleet" of pheasants sheltering in it.
Thanks Brenda. Isnt that typical: no ospreys for 18 days and then 2 come along at once. I had changed my settings on Birdguides to look for waxwings,

-- arn't they clever! I am bouncing around, full of joy. Thank you so much for All your Congrats. I will pass on your good wishes to the parents, who are also very excited of course.
Baby Sweetpea is the image of his father at the same age! but then a lot of them look a bit like Winston Churchill, anyway, don't they!
Clever Chloe, I don't think I could ever do animations. Great story from Wendy about the pheasants! Glad to hear that Billy Whizz is still whizzing around, margo.
"My name is little Billy Whizz, I don't quite know just who I is!I'll gladly come and lick the milkAnd eat your food, as good as silk!"
"It's very cold, and I am creepingRound the house, just food I'm seeking:I don't need cuddles or a coat - fussing me, just gets my goat!"
"So don't you worry about the snowAs up and down the path I goI'll always manage food to findWhen people just like you are kind"
Congratulations to Lindybird (obviously in poetic mood), OH, the proud parents and "Sweetpea" at last!
Sue
Evening All: One thing I did manage to get when I was on my shopping trip to Elgin was tomorrows newspaper thus meaning I don't have to go out on the roads in the ice and I can get my daily fix of the crossword.....meaning real pen on paper!!!!
Congratulations to Grannybird aka Linda and all your family. I wish Sweetpea the best of futures.
Margo - Glad that Billy Whiz is still visiting. I wonder if he has been mistreated by someone previously.
Er, Wendy, tomorrow’s paper? So does it have tomorrow’s news as well?
Thanks Heron for the link. (You shouldn’t encourage me LOL)
