Weekly Chat, Sunday October 10, 2010

In the absence of Annette it falls to me to start the new weekly thread.  Continuing from  Weeky Chat, Sunday 3rd October 2010

I hope you all have a great week and no doubt we should welcome back Annette before the end of it. Hopefully the other holidaymakers will reappear too. It is so hard to keep track of but if memory serves me right both OG and Alicat are also on holiday.  A birthday coming up on Saturday (16th)  too :)

  • Gary - Salmon (like most things) gets frozen in twos in our house, so I cooked the second piece to have cold with salad tomorrow.  Pleased you have solved your slow page-loading problem.

Paul – it seemed a bit cool here – but then I had only the same layer on outside as indoors!

Had a bit of a scare earlier – checked doors while closing curtains and blinds and discovered OH had left dining room’s French doors unlocked after he cleaned fish tank yesterday.  So it was like that while we slept last night and while I was on my own today.  He laughs at me for checking it because he “always” locks it – oh yeah?!

    Some hol pics:

A less flattering photo of the Westmoreland Heron (bad hair day?)

First day in Derbyshire, we only went shopping at Meadowhall, Sheffield, as we both needed new underwear; but before we went, we took morning pics in our friends’ very large garden:

Just a small area of the front garden – for an idea of scale of trees, note the summer house in its winter wrapping:

    Autumn contrasts:

Think I’ll go and put some hot water bottles in my bed – not feeling cold, but sheet may feel cold to my feet!  More tomorrow.  Good night, all.

Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!

  • Just catching up with today's news and pics.

Annette in So Cal -  so pleased you had a wonderful time with daughter and grand-daughter and that things are looking a lot better now.   Love the pictures of the area you were in.

OG - love your picture of the heron - certainly a bad hair day.  Glad we saw one at Vane Farm when we were up there.  Like the photos of your friend's garden.

Been out to town to do a bit of shopping and getting more food shoppin in for when I'm called away.

Brother was being taken out shopping and a meal by his partner - this for his 60th birthday today.

Weather been a lot cooler down here with some bright spells during the day. Have had to put the warmer duvet covers on as its quite cold at night now and the warm air heating first thing in the morning to take the chill off the house.   Sign that winter is not far away!!!!!!

Off to church in the mornng, helping in Junior Church for the first time, so hope I'm allright with the kids.

This could very well be the last entry for this week so looking forward to another week of chitchat and lots of your pictures??

    Have a good Sunday all.

  • Diane, I have signed the crane petition.

    Happy birthday Paul and Alicat!

Gary, glad your horse dentist visit went ok.

Good to see you back after good trips, OG and Annette.

Sorry haven’t been here, very busy week and not much spare time this weekend, just enjoyed reading the posts and pics this week before someone starts a new thread.

    Terry in Cumbria

  • OG Isn't it amazing how when something is mentioned it soon crops up in other places.

No need to be sorry about the signature. I like to know what you think rather than what I want to hear. Thanks for the great pictures.

ChloeB  Great to see the horses have undergone the shrinking process. That is a big improvement in my view!

Gary  Yes there are a lot of browsers to choose from these days.

Annette  Thanks for the pictures and account of your trip. Mind you it is good that you are back because I think we all missed you.

Thanks to everyone who contributed to what has been a very interested week.
