  • Good afternoon dibnlib  hope you get some good news about your shoulder on Thursday.  Must have made things difficult for you although I note you are still swimming.

Just want to say my thoughts are george p  and his family today.  I found the days after my Mum and Dad's funeral were the days it really hit home they had gone.  So busy arranging funerals and all the other things that have to be done that I didn't grieve until after the finality of the funeral.

  • Good afternoon Paul I still logged in to the webcam first, hard habit to get rid of although LG will solve it eventually as the cam will go off.  Lovely pic of the nest with those wonderful colours.

  • Good afternoon patriciat  that sounds painful.  I am a bit like you only takes a slight knock and I have the skin off as well as terrible bruising.  I have to take aspirin every day and it makes you bruise so easily as well as bleed, just a minor cut can bleed for ages.  Take care of your self and no more tobogganing down the stairs.

  • Good afternoon original goldfinch very pleased with shopping expedition yesterday.  Got everything I needed which is always a relief.  Much to our surprise the shops were quiet as well so no queuing for everything.  I am smiling to myself at the moment as I got warm jumpers and cardigans, thermal socks to go in side the wellies and at the moment it is like a summer day here.  Very chilly first thing but now warm and a lovely blue sky.

  • Good afternoon HeatherB noted your comments about the Edinburgh Woollen Mill.  We use to have two of their shops locally but they have both been shut down for a while now.  I miss them as I use to buy quite a lot from them.

Sorry about huge bill for dentist visit, I always go with fingers crossed hoping I won't actually need any work doing now.

  • Good afternoon LindybirdB and thanks for the Monday Smile which I have only just seen as I didn't look in yesterday.

Good shopping trip, got everything I set out to get plus three skirts now that winter will soon be with us.  Warm cardigans and jumpers, thermal socks to go in my new wellies which are very colourful and which I will no doubt be sporting while in Cornwall.

  • Lindybird  I wish we did have an Edinburgh Woollen Mill but both our local branches were closed sometime ago.  Use to shop in their quite a lot.  Managed to get what I wanted in the way of warm cardigans/jumpers in M&S.  We went to one of the bigger stores so there was more choice.  The only thing I couldn't get were the cord trousers but perhaps I will find some when we are away.

  • Good afternoon DjoanS it is a lovely day here too but just a bit of a nip in the air.  Thanks for the link to the tiger story and the picture, very impressive.

Hope is a real cutie and I look in everyday to see the latest news and pics of her and Lily.  Apparently Lily's heartbeat is slowing down now so they will be thinking about going in the den for winter soon.  I am hoping that Hope will be with her through her first hibernation.

Sorry I know I have not repled individually to all who posted but I didn't log in yesterday and couldn't believe how busy it had been.  Many thanks for all the news and pics.  Got to sort out stuff for holiday now so in a way it is a good thing our ospreys have left.  Will be popping in and out but I am someone who likes to pack over the week, not like OH who does his own packing but not until the night before.

  • Interesting news from the Loch of the Lowes blog.

Excellent news this morning about one of our previous ospreys chicks born here at Lowes, which has been sighted in Dumfries andd Galloway. The female chick was hatched here in 2001 and is a daughter of our wonderful lady and her previous mate ‘Eric’. Isn’t it wonderful to think of her descendants out there helping repopulate new areas of Scotland!
