I think the consensus was to continue the Daily Update until the weekend. So I've started the new day. Hope that's okay with everyone.
-- I've been meaning to come on here, but have been flaked out on the sofa, after such a busy day!
Hope it's not too late to wish you a great time in The Lakes, Cirrus! - perhaps you will read this when you get home from work....
Many thanks to jsb for the stats , very useful for future reference.
We shall just have to get used to an ospreyless life for a bit, and know that we have next year to look forward to once again, and in such good company - thanks to you All! Goodnight!
Have overlapped with you, Lynette - don't worry about joining in, on the Weekly Chat Thread - we are all very friendly, and no-one bites ! ;-) Just post when you feel like it, there's no obligation to write every day or even to try to keep up with replying to everyone all the time, as there is too much going on for that! Look forward to hearing from you on there...
I've really enjoyed the Daily Update in the last few weeks (thank you), but shall now migrate off to the Weekly Chat thread. Everyone was very welcoming there when I braved a comment a while ago. Thank goodness we still have something left - am feeling very lost without the ospreys and any tracking to look forward to. But hopefully we will still get news of Rothes from time to time. Night all.

As we close the 2010 season I would like to thank everyone for their reports, comments , pictures, videos, stats and expert knowledge of Ospreys.
It has been an unusual season ending with the chicks not being tagged or ringed. Odin was not ringed and he is doing just fine . Someday The chicks will turn up at a nest somewhere and do what Ospreys do and they will manage without our prying eyes or critique :)
I wish every one a relaxing off season and look forward to doing this all again next year.
I guess now I can get to bed early since there is no need for the night shift.
As everyone here I wish EJ, Odin and the chicks safe journey and look forward to seeing EJ and Odin next year. . And to the the chicks who have been a part of my life for 4 months I hope they have a wonderful life and find deserving mates . I still think Middle is a female :)

Evening all: Gather from Barbara Jean that night shift is done for the next few months (it'll fly by!) Just as well, I'm zonked from trip still and barely made it through today. Will catch up on all the threads in the next day or so.
THANKS TO ALL!!
Osprey on nest at 6.28am for about three seconds, unexpeected, so too late to capture by one second, Heard wing air-rush sound, came in from left, looked at camera, looked up, flew off, to right. Possibly a male, but not sure, too quick for me, having tea in bed.
EDIT: Was busy researching story on cupcakes, when it happened, after waking from nightmare about an orchestra!

Well, jsb, that's very interesting. I'll go ahead and start one final Daily Update thread to end the week -- especially since there's an unknown osprey about. Hope that's okay with everyone.
