I think the consensus was to continue the Daily Update until the weekend. So I've started the new day. Hope that's okay with everyone.
Afternoon all and thanks for all the earlier chat. Welcome to Sarah. Great pictures by the way. Red8T must be one of the most photographed ospreys around and has featured a lot this season. Blue AH is a new one to me. No idea of its credentials.
Notice he was named as soundalike Red18.

Thanks for those alerts to the new blog from Debbie - I've just been to read it.
Hi everyone. Thanks for starting the thread Diane. Thanks to everyone for all the posts. Cirrus: Glad the Word to Notepad to post idea has worked.Linda: That's a fantastic poem that really sums up those wonderful GEMs.A very warm welcome to Sarah. Thanks for the link to the pictures of the Osprey fishing.Anyway. In the picture below, notice how two of the sticks have adopted some sort of pincer movment as a means to attack the clump of moss nearest the camera. The other sticks stand guard.

Warning! This post contains atrocious spelling, and terrible grammar. Approach with extreme edginess.
Thanks for pointing out Debbie's new blog. I am glad she mentioned White TF, who I mentioned earlier, but couldn't remember if I had the correct name.
The rain is now falling at LG. I've also noticed that the temperatures where I live are starting to get a wee bit colder now, especially at night. I'd imagine that the night temperatures are even colder in Abernethy. Those Ospreys have certainly got the right idea heading for somewhere nice and warm.
Thanks Alicat for the note about the new BLOG.
Heron - I have noticed the temperatures falling here too at night. The local weather forecast at lunchtime mentioned that the temperature dropped to just above freezing in some remote parts of Northumberland last night :-( Some mornings lately have been more like autumn than August!

Good afternoon all just popped in to see if the main blog had been updated and now we have it confirmed that two youngsters and Odin are on their way. Odin didn't let us down as he stayed with them to the very last proving what a good Dad he is. Still looked at the nest first of all and what a sad sight, looking very dark and raining so I am glad they decided to up and go when they did. I have noticed from the weather forecasts how cold it is getting at night now. Mention of frost in August.
Enjoyed my few hours with Rhys but poor little sould has conjunctivitus and a cough. He is teething as well but for all that losts of smiles and little giggles from him. He is just gorgeous. Back later after tea.
Wecome Sarah and thanks for the link to those wonderful photos, just stunning.

It just shows how quiet it is at LG now. If you listen closely you can actually hear the horn of the steam train at Boat of Garten station.
Thanks Heron 77 I heard a noise but couldn't make out what it was. I wonder why I keep getting drawn to this empy nest still with so many memories of a great season. Takes some getting used to.
