Hi, it was a day of misery for the two chicks. With EJ gone and it looks like Odin has gone too, there were no deliveries of fish yesterday.
Nature is playing its part. It is time the two juves went fishing for themselves or else start on their migratory journey. Odin has obviously felt it is time to kick start these two into foraging for themselves. If confirmed he is gone by the LG team it will be about the same time as last year.
The weather sounds foul at LG at the moment so hope they are sheltering safely somewhere.
Only time and a new day will tell us what is happening.

Good afternoon Daisy Ray good job we have people on the blog who reassure us that this is normal although upsetting. I am not looking at the cam all the time now just popping in now and again and have sound turned down.

Hello, margobird. I agree with you about the bloggers. I, on the other hand, am sitting by the computer with sound and live stream on, but also watching my garden for any stray birds; and reading Simon Barnes' excellent book, "How to be a bad birdwatcher." Friends gave it to me for my birthday in July, and I'm really enjoying it.
On the subject of b'days etc, congratulations, Lynette and good wishes to your OH.
I have that book Daisy Ray and it does make a good read. I just had a look again and both of them look as though they are nodding off. Must be wearing themselves out with all the shouting.

I just read the LOTL Blog and it says chicks not been seen for two day's and that Laird will probably leave now knowing he has done his job. End of another year at the Lowes.

Thank you all for your reassurances - you are all such balanced people on this site. I would hate it if someone came on and just ridiculed those of us who have over active imaginations and tearducts. I agree, Margobird, sometimes events in our own garden break my heart---- Youngest SiL unintentionally frightened baby blackbirds out of their nest here a few years ago, they weren't ready to fledge and the events that followed were very upsetting.
Hi Sandra what a good job the Laird did. Have lots of admiration for the way he coped with everything that was thrown at him. Dodgy start but turned out to be simply marvellous to the last. Safe journey to the chicks and Laird and hopefully Lady is making good progress.
Hi Margo. Yes he was an incredible bird and a great provider to the very end! He has looked after them so well considering he is a young bird!! :-)
