Good Morning all,
Yesterday had some interesting goings on. Delivery in the morning and a delivery in the early evening which resulted in an eventual takeover by the chick who lost out when EJ delivered round about 5pm This chick then kept eyeing his sibling up and eventually grasped the fish that was left and flew off with it., leaving the first winner of the fish contest to wonder what had happened. It was all very amusing and also a privelege to watch what can go on between siblings in the wild.
The evening ended with the usual ENS
Over to the early morning shift and keep those anecdotes and scintillating commentaries coming for us over here as we love to catch up in the mornings, of what has been going on early morning. BTW what absolutely gorgeous photos of the early morning at LG yesterday. Congrats to those that posted, really atmospheric.
Over to you!!!

Cirrus I'm in Northern Ireland, Newtownards at the head of Strangford Lough (brilliant for waders and wintering geese but no ospreys yet!)
Heron77 Sorry to disillusion you but I think Co Dublin (or part of it) is now called Fingal - wish they'd stop changing names).
Screeching GEM on nest looks as though there might be an intruder as it is mantling.
Margobird
Just saw the juve leaving the nest so too late to capture. Rain sounds heavy now.

A true Scot then Heron :) – interesting explanation and thanks.
How exciting Margo - a wonderful sighting
DaisyRay - :( so sorry. Water damage is horrendous
Patriciat – still – lots of lovely water birds – AND GEESE YES ! I’m envious
I’ve just ordered a mug with the sunrise pics of the juves on it from Snapfish :) So thanks greatly Diane and Tiger
As I log on again, I do to the sounds of a screeching juve offstage. Seems to have stopped raining but can hear the wind or flies buzzing near the microphone.
Thanks for witty and amusing updates.
Still one juve. calling.
Margo, it shows how bird friendly your garden is or you wouldn't see a peregrine around. The Red Arrows flew over our house during the Eastbourne Air Display. The Noise !!!
DaisyRay, I really am sorry to hear about your flooding. Cirrus, great Idea about the mug.
Reading throuh the posts it has become clear that we have people signed in from all four countries of the British Isles, America, Australia, Finland, and I'm sure i've forgotten a country!! or maybe not, someone will tell me. What a wonderful global group we are watching ospreys etc. Thank you for your friendship through this blog and to all the others long may we continue to watch and have OSPREYITIS.
One GEM still shouting offstage.
Oh dear Caberfeidh posed this on the main blog :(
Haven't been to the coast yet on Osprey watch as we have had surprise visitors here to look after but here jus South of Bergerac we are noticing a lot of migrating birds overhead all heading south of us..In our garden we have Hoopoes which are enchanting and look really prehistoric, lots of Jays waiting for the Oak nuts to ripen and fall, Red Squirrels and lots of different Owls and Bats.. Our resident Buzzards have been prolific this year and we have 3 Juves now practising there hunting technique over our land. Just hope that hey get the mole that is persistently undermining the lawns..
So stay safe LG, batten down the hatches....
