Aila and Louis' first chick hatched on Friday 29 May. Perhaps we can expect number 2 and 3 to hatch on 1 and 4 June.
May brought lots of fish, clods, shag pile, sticks, osprey and owl intruders and fame to Aila and Louis, appearing on the BBC, Channel 4 and Chris Packham's Self Isolating Bird Club Live.

Mum, we hate the weather here, a couple of days ago you had to shelter us from the sun, now you have to shelter us from the rain. We do hope we don't have to stay here forever.

Spoken in a shrill raspy voice: "Don't worry my little chickies, in a few weeks time I'm throwing you out for good and you can go wherever you like, personally I'd recommend Africa, but it's up to you.."

Louis delivered quite a large fish around 8-9 minutes ago.
Sorry for the blurry image, loved how all the chicks were looking up at it arriving.
Poor Louis's crop is very empty
EDIT: It lasted until 10.30 then Aila was calling for more!

Thanks for all updates - looks like supper is over and they are settling down again. Raining still. C. Woodland Trust

His crop is so hollow that his chest looks concave, and even his legs look stick-thin. Keep the next one yourself, Louis!
Mary, I thought you wouldn't mind, I used your nest season to 10th June video as a bonus video in my end of day summary today (reposting the whole here so you get a flavour)
23.20.10 Night cam switches over on Saturday 27th June which was wet on and off but so far the forecasted thunderstorms have held off. There was a bit of intruder action, more self feeding and some beak to beak discussion by the chicks, Aila wore an odd hat and Louis delivered five fish. Although, looking at his hollow crop, perhaps he should keep the next one for himself. Day cam was on for 19:39:17 hours.

Going to be a long wet night - bye bye Aila and chicks, I'm off to my nice dry duvet.
