Beautiful female, Rutland's CJ7:
The hoped-for partner for CJ7, local male LS7, has not yet appeared. CJ has been tending the nest daily and yesterday she took everyone by surprise, producing an egg - which took us by surprise by surviving... until midnight at least ;)

Brilliant morning! Rene Goad was with me when the second one flew around over our heads being chased by the crow. His photos are better than mine, but I have put a few on Twitter and Facebook.

It was great, Wendy. It's uncanny that exactly the same scenario with juveniles in that particular part of the harbour happened at this time last year too. That's why the platform was put up there. Just when we thought there wasn't going to be any action, it's all kicked off! For those not wishing to look at Twitter or Facebook, here's a photo of the osprey on the platform today.
So glad you like the pic.
Kind regards, Ann

I'm so late to the party but what a fab-fab-fab surprise - thank you SHEILA and congratulations to ALISON, you deserve it!
I'd like to be able to say that it puts my measly Raven to shame, but it wasn't a measly Raven, it was a magnificent one and gave us such a treat:
I tried to do a "special" frame but couldn't do it justice, and can't match the black not no-how.
There were a lot of single corvids, before and after this Raven - I'm sure one was a Crow but am not posting in case of contradiction, haha. Not really, it's because I can't make the time now.
It was a very rainy night up to something past one, intermittent and windy after that.
