Beautiful female, Rutland's CJ7:
The hoped-for partner for CJ7, local male LS7, has not yet appeared. CJ has been tending the nest daily and yesterday she took everyone by surprise, producing an egg - which took us by surprise by surviving... until midnight at least ;)

I must say I have loved some of the views we've been getting of CJ7 on the PH nest - they've been like paintings - which of course is not the ideal.
Disappointing news, I'm afraid.
Translocation postponed
That is so sad, Alison, for the project, and for those involved. Most of all, I think it is extremely worrying that there was a high percentage of failed nests in Roy's area, mainly due to the numbers of non-returnees, to the late return of the ospreys and then the bad weather in the spring. It just goes to emphasise how vulnerable the recovering species is, even now.
We have been so lucky with most of the nests that we are privileged to be able to follow that we are unaware of the disasters elsewhere

Turned up about 1704, did some nest tidying and then sat on edge of nest looking round. Stayed for about 1/2 hour

Very sorry to read that - sympathy especially to those locally involved, including you and Richard, of course.
I don't have any footage from today (up till now) - I'm sure you would have reported any unusual behaviour, Richard, so I'm not going to record from rollback unless you say it would be highly desirable
... Well, I'll see how I get on with other things... ;)
Kind regards, Ann
