Beautiful female, Rutland's CJ7:
The hoped-for partner for CJ7, local male LS7, has not yet appeared. CJ has been tending the nest daily and yesterday she took everyone by surprise, producing an egg - which took us by surprise by surviving... until midnight at least ;)

Thanks Richard, that is good to know.

05:22 for a few seconds:
Then a few minutes later it could be heard when (I claim) an Osprey landed on the campost and gave a very few very quiet peeps:
That's up to 15:12.
The Nightjars have been very busy since day/nightcam transition - no time for video now, have some random snaps.
See y'all much later :)
Last night's Nightjars - no appearance near daycam this morning, gone by 03:30. Nearly 15 minutes not all of it fascinating but it's on the record
30-odd clips, and that's not including where I've made a rough cut while no-one is onscreen!
Extract - I think there were 3 Nightjars, pity I can't tell them apart.
This morning, Great Spotted Woodpecker, Crow, unseen Osprey heard on campost:
My internet has been very unreliable all day, I've got some full 6-hour clips but mostly smaller, some only a few minutes.
The invisible Osprey may have flown @ 10:14, when there was a cambump plus sharp foot sound.
This bedraggled but glossy corvid perched for 1 second max! Don't know what scared it.
The Nightjar turned up @ 22:10, in very difficult (non) light - this is immensely brightened. It stayed for about 1-and-a-half minutes and hasn't been back since !!!
My internet is still dreadful but I don't think we saw any more of the Nightjar all night.
This morning this corvid preened for 13 minutes, apart from a short drop down onto the sticks.
G'night !!!
