Beautiful female, Rutland's CJ7:
The hoped-for partner for CJ7, local male LS7, has not yet appeared. CJ has been tending the nest daily and yesterday she took everyone by surprise, producing an egg - which took us by surprise by surviving... until midnight at least ;)

CJ thru the morning:
She landed chipping:

Last sighting of CJ yesterday - very early in the day!
Back early this morning:
Keeps a foot on her egg:
She's been to and fro since, spent some time on the perch, back on the nest last time I checked.
Byeee! ;)
Thanks for starting the new thread Scylla and ALL the lovely pics.
The nest is empty at the moment, well apart from the egg.

On and off the nest during the morning, last seen @ 12:15:
A corvid, probably a raven by the size, and possible tail shape, flew towards the nest but flew on.

15.08 CJ7 returned with a cheerful chirrup
Six minutes later she dropped into the cup
15.15 a vague attempt at kicking it out
And just stood over the egg
A preen in the sunshine
15.47 she abruptly flew off, and returned to the campost I think
