Beautiful female, Rutland's CJ7:
The hoped-for partner for CJ7, local male LS7, has not yet appeared. CJ has been tending the nest daily and yesterday she took everyone by surprise, producing an egg - which took us by surprise by surviving... until midnight at least ;)
IMAGICAT
CJ7 had spent the last couple of years as an almost surrogate mother for the translocated birds, meeting them and even feeding them, after their release from the pens. I expect she can remember that, and is now waiting for it to happen again this year. It will be interesting to see if any chicks are translocated this year, or whether it will be postponed.

Still don't, really, but something's got to be produced! Maybe some others have never seen Wood Pigeon courtship ritual, which doesn't seem to get this male anywhere.
Notes - I've completely omitted some solitary visits to the nest, and I thought I had a prolonged spell of vocals from one on the campost but may have lost it in the second edit
She fled:
Nothing more to report up to 23:19. There was probably a party going on but I didn't see anything, and I get no sound when scrolling thru unless I stop to check something - hence SHEILA's birdie missed, I hadn't see her post.
Lovely video Scylla - if he cannot tempt the female wood pigeon with Buckingham Palace nest he has no chance
Spectacular wing shot of the Wood Pigeon on previous page too Scylla...
I feel for you, it must be melting down your way!
EJ's Memorial Balgavies Loch Ospreys 2023
I forgot to say last night how glad I was to see the news of CJ7 being spotted in old haunts :)
The Nightjar visited in the early hours, with a vocal introduction (upped!) and flyby - were there two?
That's up to 06:45, when I had to shut everything down and reboot for a Dell firmware update which took quite a while.
As I was bemoaning the absence of any birds at the nest today, one of the Wood Pigeons turned up @ 17:50 and stayed for 5 minutes:
Apart from disturbance to the spider's web, nothing to report up to 00:52.
Nightjar again, landed with a "chirp" then the familiar whaddoowecallit? It nearly made daycam.
I will come back with cambump activities
