Louis arrived on the 5th April and Aila a day later. They were quickly into the old routine of making the nest cosy, stickifying, catching and eating fish, and mating of course. Three eggs were laid ON THE SAME DATES as last year - 23rd, 26th and 29th April. Last year's eggs hatched on 1 and 4 June, although egg 2 failed during hatching and was removed from the nest on 7 June. Let's hope for a healthy trio this year, although we don't want a repeat of snow on 13 May.

I had quite big buffers on my screen capture, and the download simply skipped - so I only have her on the nest poised with the fish dangling by its skin, and after this the next shot was the fish disappearing at the top of the screen - she's so stubborn !!!

19.59, I think Cathy's prediction of foul weather is transpiring. The nest is swaying quite a bit in the wind and the camera is spattered with rain spots. Ian

It must have been very windy overnight, there are clips on the WT chat page of Aila being almost blown over by a gust. See the links below to real-time & slo-mo versions posted by Geemeff. Ian
