*It is with much regret to report that Lassie (LF15) failed to return*
‘An Empty Nest’ blog >>> scottishwildlifetrust.org.uk/2020/04/an-empty-nest/
For reasons known only to them, Laddie (LM12) and this season's new female, NC0, have made the decision not to use the webcam nest. We can only hope that they are safe and successfully incubating eggs somewhere in the immediate area of the Loch and that, as this month progresses, they will grace us occasionally with their presence on camera. In the meantime, we will continue to enjoy, and report on, the sights and sounds of this beautiful location.

18:48 Laddie on the nest. No chipping or mantling
Flew/glided off across the Loch at 18:50
Ravens have paid quite a few visits today

And back again, this time chipping/mantling 18:55(ish) INTRUDER was flying around and actually went over Laddie's head
Legs in view, top right
The intruder made a couple of flypasts over the Loch, landed on top of the dead tree too. When Laddie was chipping, another Osprey was chipping in the distance as well
When he eventually left the nest (a longer visit than the previous one), he flew in the direction of the dead tree over the left side of the Loch and chased the intruder, who was still resting there, away. Laddie - arrowed; intruder flying off - in the box
Chipping could be heard for quite a few minutes after
Crop is looking very empty in the 3rd photo down in the top set of photo's.

It is! His first visit was about 25 minutes after the last visit of the Ravens, who'd given the nest a darn good going over!
Highly abbreviated:
Gooood niiiight !!!

Many thanks for the vid, Scylla, and this morning's raven pics, Mary! From scroll back - Laddie paid another visit to the nest just before 12:00 today, chipping/mantling for a short time on landing
