Possibly, Hilary, but although I could be wrong about this, I seem to remember reading that 5F left her Clywedog nest a few times earlier in the year when all she spotted was a couple of people walking and on another occasion one man walking with a dog come into view on the road about 200 metres away and she did not return for ages.
Kind regards, Ann

AG said: The organisation probably most fault here is in my view Welsh Water who thought that a150m exclusion zone around the nest was enough.
A 150m exclusion zone is probably enough for normal activity in the area but not for this kind of disturbance. It would be like having a rave at the end of the street.
I recently read of a forest clearance on land previously owned by the Forestry Commission where a nest of at least four years was also felled. There was a quote from NatureScot [formerly Scottish Natural Heritage] of "a buffer zone of 350 to 1000 metres around active nests". It was a newspaper article so how true it is I have no idea.
