Last season Louis and Aila arrived on their nest almost at the same instant on the 4th of April. Here's to a repeat, but a few days earlier to save our anxiety.
WEBCAM, compliments of the Woodland Trust and the People's Postcode Lottery.
IMAGICAT
16.19, Louis comes to the nest with a small piece of fish. Aila stands up to let him see the two eggs. It takes Aila until 16.32 to take the fish off the nest in her beak. She comes back at 16.38, maybe enough time for her to finish the fish (I hope she didn't drop it). They swap places at 16.48. Aila is now fish calling but at least the sun is out, as Cathy has mentioned she was a tad wet earlier. Ian
EDIT - 18.24, poor Aila, it is now raining again.
Some illustrations of the 2nd egg day:
She was very coy about showing it off at first:
The whole fish as reported:
She brought back a generous portion @ 20:27:
Alert - and it's raining on 'n off. I was thinking that even tho the Pine Marten may not be able to climb the tree, she may well hear it trying to ;)
Up to 23:20.
Good Morning Patily
Louis brought a fish in for Aila at 06.00 hrs, she got up and flew off the nest without it, whereby Louis stood with the fish for a while looking bemused
She came back and settled on the eggs again, he took the fish away, then came back again with it. She then eventually took the fish and left a few moments ago.
One thing about Louis and Aila they never do the normal routine
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Louis arrives with the fish, and what does Aila do - fly off
He is left looking bemused
She arrives back - ignores the fish!
Settles down on the eggs
Louis takes the fish away, obviously has a few nibbles while he is away
Aila falls asleep - her head was actually nodding
Louis brings the fish back, which is slightly smaller
She waits 10 mins approx. before she decides to take the fish. Louis has patience I will give him that.
Louis is incubating now, looks tired LOL

She's got an excuse, having been clobbered by the Tawny Owl last night!
I noticed she was on guard a few times:
Thank you for great coverage this morning, MARY - the story in pictures :) I'll be clocking off soon, just going to have a wander thru the main nests :)
