Last season Louis and Aila arrived on their nest almost at the same instant on the 4th of April. Here's to a repeat, but a few days earlier to save our anxiety.

They are just so lovely Standing surveying their kingdom
Since my last post there have been three failed mating attempts, one maybe a tip off by Aila, one where they almost fell into the cup and one definite tip off by Aila. The good news is that there was one successful mating. In between there was a bird that flew fast below the nest. L&A didn't pay it any attention so neither will I. Ian
EDIT - 10.28, another failed mating attempt, Aila didn't seem interested & Louis gave up.
At least it's a dry nest. ....... oh dear oh dear for Telyn and Idris and maybe for Mrs G and Aran as this ''lot'' moves north

18.55, for the first time this year I have seen Louis fly from the nest to his perch tree. Ian
EDIT - he also went back to his perch after the (19.15) mating that Korky has snapped above.

Morning all. 05.15, Aila comes to the nest with Louis skydancing. 05.28, mating and at 05.31. 06.50
Well I've got this @ 06:08, I promise you, but I'd already done the cropped snap before coming here and seeing that you'd missed it, dear IAN ;) (Seein' as I missed a late mating the night before).
But to substantiate, Aila brought it back:
Ian S said: I am exhausted already :) Ian
I am too, so I'm not doing the rest of the day except to log the last sightings...
They both flew in, Aila on Louis's tail, just before 2100 and flew off just after. My footages are so fragmentary I can't swear to anything :(
